This is a test of a very unique playing hard rubber mouthpiece on the standard Out of Nowhere. I purchased this piece a couple years back from Greg Wier on eBay who claimed it was a Gale blank. I didn’t like the response on it so sent it to Brian Powell who put a great facing on it and made it sing. It has a large round chamber characteristic of some Gale and Gregory pieces and a medium rollover baffle. It plays unlike anything else I own. Warm dense sound in the lower range then tightens up as you move higher up the horn. Loud enough for big band playing but not inherently bright. Can definitely get the west coast vibe out of it but it can also be pushed for something more modern. Play tested with a Vandoren blue box 2 1/2
