Carla Maffioletti is of Brazilian and Italian descent. She studied singing with Neyde Thomas and classical guitar at UFRGS University in Brazil. In 1998 she moved to Maastricht to study singing with Mya Besselink at the Maastricht Conservatory. In the late years it has been under the direction of the well-known coloratura soprano Reri Grist. From 2012 to 2014 she worked as a soloist with Andre Rieu and his World Concert Tour, where she performed famous opera and operetta arias all over the world, from New York to Tokyo and the most famous open air classic event in Maastricht. With Rieu Carla has recorded several CDs and DVDs that are often broadcast by the major TV channels in many countries.
