The Garrison

‘The Garrison’ was composed by The Fluffy Hat Music Company as a quick troop for the King’s Birthday Parade (trooping the colour) in 2025. This work is dedicated to Warrant Officer Class 1, Garrison Sergeant Major Stokes OBE MVO, in recognition of his distinguished service and to mark his tenure as the Garrison Sergeant Major of HQ London District. During his time in office, WO1 Stokes played a pivotal role in orchestrating several significant national ceremonial events, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Funeral, Op London Bridge, and Op Golden Orb. In recognition of his service he has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and a Member of the Royal Victorian Order. His contributions have established him as one of the most esteemed members of the Coldstream Guards in recent history - a history that spans 375 years in 2025.
