The project will be fully operational all over Guwahati city by year 2024. From 21.12.2022 regular water supply is provided to consumers for 3 hours daily & after fully operational it will be continuous (24x7) supply of water to the Guwahati Metropolitan Area. 01:32 During year 2013 workers were engaged during both night & day time to complete the JICA water supply project of Guwahati city but even after ten years water supply project could not be started as it is moving at snail speed. 02:38 Today December 2022 almost at the end of year JICA new water supply connection have started to people of Guwahati city from this Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) water project. Hope JICA water supply project will start functioning from next year 2023, which will provide a huge relief to the people of Guwahati city. 03:48 Almost 80% water meters are getting stolen so people should take special care of the water meter & should install it in a safe place from thieves. If the meter gets stolen one have to file an police FIR and again apply for a new water meter by paying extra money/fees.
