This operation targeted unauthorized constructions and encroachments to facilitate the long-delayed widening of the road to its planned 45-meter width. PUNE PULSE The demolition involved the removal of approximately 40 tin sheds and two permanent buildings that had been obstructing the road expansion. Property owners had been notified over the preceding six months to voluntarily clear the encroachments; however, due to non-compliance, the PCMC proceeded with the demolitions. PUNE PULSE The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner Shrikant Kolpe and included a substantial deployment of resources: around 60 police officers, 200 municipal staff, and heavy machinery such as excavators and JCBs.
