Dizma, pass cozy cafés, and stop by the statue of Marija Jurić Zagorka - a celebrated Croatian novelist whose legacy continues to shape the city. A narrow climb up Zakmardi Street opens into one of Zagreb’s most scenic routes. Here we pass the Antun Gustav Matoš Monument, the Zagreb Funicular, and the medieval Lotrščak Tower before arriving at the instantly recognizable Saint Mark’s Church with its colorful tiled roof. The walk continues by the Croatian Parliament building and leads to the Stone Gate, a beloved shrine where locals light candles and stop for quiet prayer. As we circle past the Statue of Saint George and return toward the city center, we take a detour up to the lively Dolac Market - Zagreb’s famous open-air market known for fresh produce and handmade local goods. The walk wraps up in a peaceful green corner near the Bishop Duh Steps, just a short stroll from many cafés, restaurants, and the pulse of everyday Zagreb.
