NASCAR Racing 2003 Season - Ahead of its Time! | Sim Racing Classics

Today we're finally jumping into NASCAR Racing 2003 Season (NR2003), also known simply as NASCAR 2003! Now I had heard there is still quite the following for this sim, and so I had some high expectations, which were definitely validated when I got behind the wheel! I can definitely understand why this game was used as the basis for iRacing, and is an amazing NASCAR Sim for the time! We did 20 laps at Daytona, on some fairly easy settings, but even with those settings, the game provided a reasonable challenge for me at least. I can see this becoming quite challenging at higher settings, which would make for a great AI racing experience. It did take me some time to get the wheel set up properly, the H-Pattern Shifter would not be recognised for a while, but all of a sudden decided to work. My wheel, pedals and force feedback all worked perfectly however, so this was a great win for such an old game!
