For over a century, they lived completely underground—raising children who never knew daylight existed, ritually blinding themselves to escape "the deception of sight," and feeding something in the deepest level of their monastery. Something they called "the sleeper." When a modern archaeological team discovered the sealed entrance in 2024, they found fifteen levels of sophisticated underground architecture, theological writings carved into stone, and evidence of 114 children born in total darkness. But the chronicles spoke of a sixteenth level that shouldn't exist—a level where the children were taken on their thirteenth birthday and never returned. What the team found in the deep changed everything. And what they woke up should have stayed sleeping.
