Welcome to an unboxing and set up video for the centenary celebration Hornby Flying Scotsman OO gauge train set. This is an ideal set for anyone starting out in the model railway hobby as everything you need is included in one large box! The particular train set is the ‘Celebrating 100 Years’ edition (R1255M, 2023) and comprises: LNER Class A1 4-6-2 'Flying Scotsman' Two LNER composite coaches LNER brake coach 3rd Radius Starter Oval, with Track Pack A (includes point and buffer) Train Controller (R7229) Wall Plug Transformer (P9000W) Power Connecting Track (R8206) Hornby MidiMat Re-Railer We’ll take a tour of the contents of the box, set up the track and power and get the Flying Scotsman train running! We’ll also add a few extra items from our main layout to show how to expand the set, including using one of our little shunters. The train set was very kindly sent to the channel by Simon Kohler just as he retired from Hornby after a discussion we had on the HM|7000 control system. This video was recorded on 8th January 2024.
