#bhumeparva #eastrukum #magar Welcome to East Rukum, our wishlist destination for almost a decade now! Join us as we take you to Bhume Parva or Festival, celebrated grandly in the 18 Magarat Regions of Nepal. Bhume is a festival offering prayers to Nature for a successful harvest, a safe and prosperous year ahead and well wishes to family and society. This historic festival began not very long after the Kham Speaking Magars settled in the regions of Rukum. This is one of the greatest festivals in the region which starts from the start of the Jestha Month and continues for almost one and a half month though the main rituals of the festival lasts for about 10 days. We feel blessed to be able to witness this sophisticated yet simple and exciting festival of the Magar people in one of our bucket list destinations, East Rukum. On this first episode of the Bhume Series, we follow the Nogobanges or the people of the village to a Buki or Highland called “Nogopo”, where they collect flowers necessary for the official inauguration of the Bhume in Lugum Village. We are thankful to Bir Prasad Dai and Dilchan for this trip, and also thanks to all the people who supported us along the way.
