Brooke Combe performs a cover of the 1972 US No.6 Seals & Crofts song "Summer Breeze" – which was later a big hit for The Isley Brothers – live at Arts Club, Seel Street, Liverpool on Wednesday 2 April 2025, the rescheduled opening night of her Dancing at the Edge of the World Tour. Brooke grew up in Dalkeith, near Edinburgh, Scotland, listening to her grandparents' collection of classic Motown and the '90s neo-soul and R&B loved by her parents. She studied music at university and won Best Female Breakthrough at the 2021 Scottish Music Awards, signing briefly to Island Records and appearing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2022. Now fully independent and working with James Skelly of Merseyside band The Coral, she has settled on an old-school analogue Northern Soul sound that invites comparison with 60s soul legends Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye as well as contemporaries such as Michael Kiwanuka, Leon Bridges and RAYE.
