Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch clash as Angela Rayner admits not paying enough tax on second home

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer told MPs during Prime Minister's Questions that he was “very proud to sit alongside” Angela Rayner after she admitted she underpaid stamp duty on a property she bought and had referred herself to the independent ethics adviser. Angela Rayner has admitted she did not pay enough stamp duty on her second home and has considered resigning. The Deputy Prime Minister said she has been “in shock” and “devastated” over the fallout from her property arrangements and that she has referred herself to the independent adviser on ministerial standards. Ms Rayner said she had received inaccurate tax advice and had spoken to her family about quitting.
