For this new episode, HEADBUTT invites Broodoo to present his very first live set shaped around movement, tradition and machines. Known for his magnetic energy and raw physicality, Broodoo builds sound through the body, dancing, triggering and responding in real time. At his side, the son of Yaya Coulibaly, founder of the Bamako-based Compagnie Sogolon, gives life to a handcrafted puppet.calamity, a multidisciplinary artist, created a custom HEADBUTT puppet for this episode in the likeness of the artist Broodoo Ramses. Animated throughout the set, they become both witnesses and extensions, translating emotion, rhythm and intention through pure movement. Silent storytellers that echo the presence and power of ancestral art, where electronic music meets African art. Broodoo performs surrounded by wires, synths and control surfaces, yet he remains the one pulling the strings. Like a modern puppeteer, he reclaims control over the very tools that often dictate the pace. Here, the body takes the lead and the machine follows. This episode questions the role of the performer in a digitized world. It explores the space where human instinct meets coded logic, and where tradition doesn’t just survive, it evolves. A ritual of sound and gesture where control becomes creation.
