Junk Journal January Day 6 is all about “page as object,” and I leaned fully into a vintage travel theme for this one. Instead of treating the page as a flat background, I turned it into a destination—complete with tiny suitcases that honestly stole the show. I created four miniature suitcases using Tim Holtz Idea-ology matchboxes, cutting them in half, painting each one a different color, and transforming them into little pieces of travel ephemera. I printed tiny vintage-style travel stickers from around the world, carefully cut each one out, and gently glued them onto the suitcases. I added straps to the front and even made tiny handles—because details matter, especially when things are this small and this cute. To finish the page, I layered in graphics from The Graphics Fairy “The Traveler” bundle, sticking with a well-loved vintage aesthetic that ties everything together. The result is a dimensional junk journal page where the objects are the story—perfectly fitting the prompt and my love of all things timeworn and travel-inspired. If you love junk journaling, vintage ephemera, mixed media details, or creative prompts that push you to think beyond the page, this one’s for you. Thanks for crafting along with me—and fair warning: you may feel the sudden urge to make tiny luggage after watching. #junkjournaljanuary2026 #junkjournaling #vintagetraveljunkjournal #Timholtz Follow me!
