"My doors are HQM walls" is a saying PopThatClutch (@dleese07 ) says all the time in game to bait people into trying to online the Village of free hand conditional roof (FHCR) bunkers. I wanted to put that saying to the test, and played a solo PVP wipe (YES, NO role playing BBQ+BEVing what-so-ever). I built an unraidable single TC god-rock MDAHQMWs (My Doors Are HQM Walls) bunker base with a defendable open-core. Sadly, I wasn't able to test out the full raid defense of the open core... Each time raiders started through an entrance of single doors and encountered an HQM wall they gave up. :( Anyway, I wanted to share how I started my god-rock MDAHQMWs FHCR bunker. This is NOT a build tutorial, but a demo of sorts on how to leverage using walls as doors. Keep filling the entire space with different types collapsible walls. Using collapsible/folding walls only costs twig; no cost upgrading to seal. Use traps - shotgun and flame turret to break the twig and close them should unwanted guest stroll in. There are 3 types of MDAHQMWs I used: 1) the standard FHCR bunker, but using a 2 way pass-through (see my previous video on how to do that) 2) terrain walls/doors. an example of that is the TC I start with 3) high foundations next to a wall that can fold I had the greatest success in my god-rock base wipe by just pulling a @Willjum and free-styling it. Yep, just kept building until I had lots of HQM wall "doors", or is it door walls... I found that using single doors really slowed down and deterred raiders at my entrance because it minimized splash damage. Single doors tucked into the terrain sides slows down base mobility and makes it hard to shoot rockets through them, but slow/poor mobility was something I was willing to accept to make a stronger base. Though I don't have footage of my wipe to really share, I wanted to acknowledge some inspirational credits for my success and for the ideas I'm sharing: PopThatClutch / @dleese07for the MDAHQMWs inspiration - @aloneintokyo for the videos on showcasing defendable open-core - @Willjumfor the free-spirited free-styling base building - @budsatawnyfor showing what CAN be done with precision - @DiracBuilds , @InigoPhentoya , and @odawa123for thought process and exploration - @EvilWurstfor being one bad-ass evil base builder I do want to clarify that NONE of these ideas are mine. They are NOT new. Other people came up with these ideas and concepts. I just combined them and integrated them into my build and demos to show how they can be used together. With that, enjoy and Happy Building! -- References: dyna (@dynasonic). Sep 19, 2024.
