Low frequency beta waves are associated with the processes of: VIGILANCE, CONSCIOUS MIND, ATTENTION, conscious and ANALYTICAL THOUGHT, COGNITIVE TASKS, IDENTIFICATION with the OUTSIDE WORLDout. High frequency Beta waves are typical of the state of stress (eustress and distress according to the definition of Hans Sayle) anxiety, mental overload and, for prolonged periods, are harmful to psychophysical health. Listening with headphones or earphones is essential because binaural sounds involve the simultaneous execution of two different sound frequencies, one in the right ear and the other in the left. The brain registers the difference between the two and perceives a single, new frequency tone (in this case 15hz) that the human ear would not be able to hear as it is below the perception threshold of 20hz. The listening technique of binaural beats is called "by entrainment" as it allows the brain to synchronize exactly to the frequency heard.
