The private funeral service for Mui, who died last month of lung complications caused by cervical cancer at the age of 40, drew many of Hong Kong's entertainment elite, who filed past a row of white wreaths as they entered the Hong Kong Funeral Home. Stars attending included actresses Maggie Cheung, Carina Lau, actor Tony Leung, singers Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Kelly Chen, Alan Tam and comedian Eric Tsang. Mui's altar was adorned with a sea of white flowers and a black-and-white androgynous portrait of her in top hat and suit, which was once used for an album cover.
