Quick video demonstrating the volume level of an Off Road X pipe in daily driving sort of conditions. Mods on the car are CAI, tune, 3.73 gears, pypes OR X (duh) and Magnaflow axlebacks. The magnaflows are about the tamest aftermarket muffler there are for these cars so depending on your axleback it could be a lot louder. This is just meant to demonstrate the sort of volume level you can expect inside the car in normal driving conditions with an OR mid pipe. It really is a big difference in volume level compared to just the axle backs. Personally I really like it, but if you live in a community that is really picky about sound violations or you do a lot of late night/early morning commute stuff this might not be for you! I do get on it a couple times throughout the video but I never put my foot all the way to the floor and never get above 4500 RPM. Keep that in mind as you listen, it gets louder if you want it! Like I said this is just an example of daily sort of driving. MY OPINION (for those who want it) on the X pipe VS H pipe debate: X MIGHT and I stress MIGHT make a little more power, the X design does flow better than the H, but on a 3500 pound street driven car the small difference in power between an X and an H pipe is not going to be something you're going to notice. Either design if you go with an off road pipe will give you a noticeable power improvement over the stock pipe. So, the choice comes down to sound. X is raspier, more 'exotic' sounding if you will. H is deeper, rumble-ier more 'old school' muscle car sort of sound. I personally like the raspiness of the X pipe, I love the way it snorts and pops when you let off the gas around 3000 rpm. But some people don't like that, and that's cool too. It's all personal preference my friends. ALSO, you might notice a sort of ticking almost exhaust leak sort of sound at times, especially at lower RPM, I DO NOT have an exhaust leak, I've done some research and apparently this is a normal sound with the Pypes brand product specifically. It bugged me a lot at first but I've gotten used to it now. If I had to do it again I WOULD NOT get the Pypes product. Just my 02 cents on that matter.
