Bikes roared around the Smallbrook Stadium for the first time since 2013 when speedway returned to the Isle of Wight on April 4th, 2016. Co-promoters Barry Bishop and Martin Widman launched the new Isle of Wight Warriors team, sponsored by Wightlink in front of a host of media personnel, as the team took to the shale for their Press and Practise Day ahead of their first meeting three days later. Speedway Portal were on hand to capture footage of their practise and along with the help of former Island rider Brendan Johnson, interview the riders, management and promotion.
