Tonight we've been putting the spotlight on fraught coalition governments. Earlier Bongiwe Zwane spoke about bribery claims after DA coalition partners turned against the speaker last week with some gunning for the DA mayor. The DA has an agreement with ActionSA, the PA, IFP, FF Plus, the ACDP, and other smaller parties. The EFF initially voted against the ANC with the Da in Gauteng. But now they are hinting at forming a partnership with the ANC. Well, coalition governments came to the fore in 2016 but many proved unstable. In the recent 2021 local government elections, there were not only 66 hung councils but smaller parties and even independents involved.
