I arrived at 6 AM on a sleeper train from Plovdiv, curious to see if the rumours were true—does Varna really turn into a ghost town in winter? I had to experience it for myself! In my previous vlog, I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at Varna Beach. I explored the Sea Garden (Морска градина), Varna Beach, and the beginning of the city centre (Varna pedestrian street). Today, I’m diving deeper into Varna’s history and hidden winter charm! I’ll explore the Old Town, the iconic Varna Cathedral, and the ancient Roman Baths, and finally head back to the beach in daylight to capture Varna’s off-season atmosphere. Is Varna worth visiting in winter, or is it best left for summer?
