Planting Organic Soybeans 2023

Welcome back to IN Organic Farmer! In this video I am planting soybeans in 104 acre field that had organic corn in it in 2022. I am using our John Deere 8400 tractor and John Deere 1760 12 row planter. I am also utilizing RTK Autosteer to make sure the rows are perfectly straight so it will be easier to cultivate. The soybeans are planted 2"-2 1/4" deep on 30" rows. I am planting 174,000-175,000 population. I will come back to this field in a couple days with my Hatzenbichler 30' tine weeder to make a "blind cultivation" pass. The tine weeder will rip out any small weeds that are trying to grow.
