In this video, I share my recipe for lamb shanks. These lamb shanks are perfect for Easter Sunday dinner or for any occasion where you want something amazing for dinner! Follow Me(Jamison) on Instagram: / plateyourfood Recipe: 3 Medium-Sized Lamb Shanks 1 tbsp of salt 1 tbsp of pepper 1 tbsp of crushed dried rosemary 1 tbsp of garlic powder 1 packet of Lipton's Beefy Onion Soup Mix 1 to 1 1/2 cups of red wine 4 bay leaves 1 tbsp of butter 2 tbsp of olive oil. Directions: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Apply some olive oil to the lamb shanks. Next, apply the salt, pepper, garlic powder and crushed dry rosemary to the lamb shanks. In a large heavy-bottomed pot, add the butter and olive oil and allow it to come up to temperature. Add the lamb shanks into the oil and butter and begin to brown them until they have developed a nice brown color on all sides. Add the red wine to deglaze the fond on the bottom of the pot and add enough water to nearly cover the lamb shanks. Add in 1 packet of Lipton's Beefy Onion soup mix. Once the lamb shanks and braising liquid reach a boil, place the entire pot covered into the center of your oven for 2 to 3 hour or until the lamb shanks reach your desired level of tenderness. Finishing Sauce: Remove the lamb shanks from the pot. To the reduced braising liquid whisk in a flour slurry(flour and water mixed). Return the pot to a medium heat and cook the flour slurry and braising liquid for a minute or two until the flour slurry is incorporated. Finally add a little water at a time into the sauce until it reaches the consistency you prefer. Serve the sauce over your lamb shanks and enjoy!
