The zamindar of Balihar was one of the famous zamindars of Naogaon district of Rajshahi division . Under the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb , a zamindar of Balihar area of Naogaon got a jagir. In 1823, zamindar Rajendranath built a temple of Raj-Rajeshwari Devi here . He installed a bronze idol of Goddess Rajeshwari in the temple. The statue was famous in this region including Balihar. The zamindar family of Balihar was founded by Narsingh Chakraborty. The zamindars of Balihar acquired jagir from Emperor Aurangzeb and built various structures in the area, one of which was the palace of Balihar. Many kings of the Balihar zamindar family were highly educated. Among them Krishnendranath Roy Bahadur Raja was a famous writer. Notable books written by him are the first and second volumes of Krishnendra books. Bimelendu Roy was the king of Balihar during the partition. When the zamindari system was abolished during the partition, Raja Bimelendu Roy of Balihar moved to India. The Balihar Rajbari building was then taken care of by other employees of the royal family. During and after the war of independence of Bangladesh, various patterns, furniture, windows and doors of the palace were looted. It is rumored that Raja Mansingh, the general of the then Mughal Emperor Akbar, reached Balihar in the region with his army to subdue the Bar Bhuiyans of Bengal . The army was tired after a long journey. And for the rest of their commander Mansingh sent in spies to check bhumiyade the news Mansingh this house made a stopover in the area.
