Otic Capsule Dehiscence Syndrome

A 24 year old woman with right superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome -- but with a normal CT Scan showing no evidence of a superior canal dehiscence is documented in this video. She had 24/7 migraine headaches previously attributed to intracranial hypertension. She was treated with a ventriculoperitoneal shunt which did not improve her symptoms. She also could hear her eyes move, had sound-induced dizziness/disequilibrium/gravity receptor vertigo, cognitive dysfunction, spatial disorientation and extreme light sensitivity. She underwent a round window reinforcement surgery (the same as a perilymph fistula (PLF) repair in June 2012. She remains without symptoms nearly 3 years later.
