The process of Autistic Unmasking is so much more complex than I originally understood it to be. Initially, I misunderstood the concept to be completely honest... We are presented with so many stereotypical images and portrayals of what Autism looks like by the media it's difficult not to ingest those as truth. In reality though, there's no one way to "be Autistic" and Unmasking is a complex and very individual process.
