Ever had a drain plug seize so badly you can’t even pull it to drain the bilge? That’s what happened to us. Our old brass drain plug was seized so solid it might as well have been welded in, so we had to yank the whole plug and housing before we could even start fresh. In this video, Coop walks through how we prepped and installed a new stainless steel garboard drain plug.. We’ll cover, step-by-step: 1. Why we ditched the old seized brass drain plug and housing 2. Widening the drain plug hole with a Hole Dozer hole saw so the new hardware fits properly 3. Using a Dremel to carefully trim the edge of the transducer to clear space for the new plug 4. Sealing the raw edges with polyester resin to protect the core and keep water out 5. Bedding and installing the new stainless drain plug with 5200 for a permanent, watertight mount Drain Plug Featured in This Video: Captive 316 SS Garboard Drain Plug: https://amzn.to/48y8abk 🛠️ Tools Used in This Video: Drill: https://amzn.to/4rzwqlW Hole Dozer Hole Saw: https://amzn.to/4pS6Wie Dremel: https://amzn.to/48jg2i0 If your old brass plug is seized, corroded, or just sketchy, this walkthrough will show you how we upgraded to a modern stainless drain plug.
