In this video, Petra de Graaf, assistant professor and researcher UMC Utrecht, discusses STRONG-UR's focus on the male urethra. She explains that current treatment options are limited by the lack of suitable replacement tissues, and she proposes that 3D bioprinting could offer a promising solution through the creation of patient-specific constructs. ℹ️ STRONG-UR comes to revolutionise the repair of damaged tissue by creating advanced bioprinted tissue structures. This project focuses on the treatment of male urethral strictures which affect a significant proportion of men, causing both physical complications and psychological distress, and challenging healthcare resources.
