The Cenotes of Cuzama

These underground treasures were about a 1.5 hour drive from Chelem, plus about a 20 minute cart ride. A donkey pulls the rickety cart into the jungle for several miles, to what looks like a hole in the ground. The cart ride is very jerking and jolting, but the rewards were amazing! The first one was the most impressive, simply because there was more light to see the cave, swim, and take photos. The second was very nice like the first, but much darker, and the third had the coolest stalagmites and stalactites with pathways up and around. We would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area!
