Following his collaboration with German heavy metal band Reaper’s Revenge on their Alice Cooper tribute cover of “Poison,” the Philadelphia-born drummer, singer, and songwriter now returns with his upcoming EP Eternal — due for release in November 2025 on NRT-Records. The music video for the title track will premiere in advance on October 31, setting the tone for Katone’s most personal and haunting work to date. Leaving Flesh and Fire behind, Eternal delves into themes of endurance, rebirth, and the emotional scars left by desire and devotion. Written, sung, and largely performed by Katone himself, the three-track release fuses gothic atmosphere with the grit of classic hard and dark rock — a sound honed through decades of musical evolution. Longtime collaborators Igor Mueller and Al Augunas (both from Katone’s 1980s band Hit The Ground Runnin’) contribute additional guitar layers, while Nathan Schwartz oversees mastering and Indonesian artist Pasek Dwipayana delivers the cover artwork. Katone once again took full control of the production and created matching visuals that mirror the record’s brooding spirit. From his early success with Hit The Ground Runnin’s 1989 debut Sudden Impact to acclaimed solo works like Committing Suicide, The Next Devil, Plastic Udder, and Erotic Crystallization Inertia, Katone has built a reputation for fearless experimentation and emotional depth. With Eternal, he distills that legacy into a concise, powerful statement — bold, evocative, and unmistakably his own.
