The Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brien has said that the government plans to introduce a vacant property tax in Budget 2023. The number of vacant homes in Ireland is not yet confirmed, Steven Matthews TD lists the ways you can report vacant homes and the schemes involved. He explains if you cannot measure something, you cannot manage it. Hugh believes that there should be no VAT for first-time buyers or for people doing construction. Killian tells Ciara how viewers can apply for derelict property levies to refurbish their vacant homes to live in or to put onto the property market.
