Long Island Steel Splitting Incident at Glen Huntly 31/10/2025

Today we see an incident on the tracks. A freight train called "long steel island" travels from West Melbourne to Hastings. 31/10/2025 Down service VL360 and VL353 was going at a slow speed, suddenly the carrier plate or kuncle pin came loose and separated the two halves of the consist, pulling out the knuckle from the socket and taking it with the front half. Emergency locomotives were called in and VL357 and G515 went to retrieve the consist back to west Melbourne while the other locomotives went to Hastings. I guess you could say the freight got tricked whole trick or treating. (it wasn't funny Ik) I am a train spotter from Australia, Melbourne.
