Every London Overground Station January - March 2025

The London Overground is a suburban rail network serving London and its environs. It consists of 6 lines and 113 stations in total. In November 2024 the lines were given names: -the Lioness Line: Euston – Stratford -the Mildmay Line: Stratford – Richmond / Clapham Junction -the Windrush Line: Highbury & Islington – Clapham Junction / New Cross / Crystal Palace / West Croydon -the Weaver Line: London Liverpool Street - Cheshunt / Enfield Town / Chingford -the Suffragette Line: Gospel Oak – Barking Riverside -the Liberty Line: Romford – Upminster The trains operating on the Overground are Class 378 ’Capitalstar’ units, and Class 710 ’Aventra’ units. I had not travelled much on the Overground before and was curious to see what it was all about, and to take a photo of each station. The idea was that the photo would show the name of the station clearly. A typical photo would show the ’roundel sign’ with something of interest in the background - there’s not a lot apart from platforms, trains and passengers, but perhaps I have captured the essence of ’London life’ on this form of public transport. The photos were taken between January and March 2025. This project was just for fun, and I deliberately used two pieces of ’London music’ to fit: My Girl by ’Madness’. and The Wombling Song by ’Zoom Karaoke’.
