Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 9 Op. 47 (aka the Kreutzer Sonata) is my favorite Sonata of his. It should really be called "Sonata for Violin and Piano" since an incredible dialogue between these two instruments takes place. In this video I analyze the piece's harmony as well as its formal structure. I use my own unique form of Roman numeral analysis that borrows the inversion system from German functional analysis. The bass note is indicated below the Roman numeral (e.g. 3 = 3rd of the chord is in the bass.)
