Inspiring Stories of Hope: Sunny P

"Say your prayers, take your medicine and live your life." These were words of wisdom that Cancer Fighters member Sunny P. received from her nephew at the beginning of her cancer journey that she carried with her throughout her treatment and even today. Sunny was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June 2024 during a women's wellness visit. As someone who rarely even fell ill with a cold, Sunny was shocked. After visiting City of Hope Cancer Center Phoenix, Sunny began treatment which consisted of chemotherapy and radiation. During treatment, she found community within her center among other patients and City of Hope staff. She shares that this experience has taught her newfound compassion, humility, grace and how to take care of herself by slowing down a bit during this phase of life.
