Today, we leave the city of Kon Tum to begin the most isolated and legendary push of the Trường Sơn mountain range. 6,500 Kilometers. One bike. The Frontier. ABOUT THIS EPISODE The ride from Kon Tum to Khâm Đức along the QL14 is a journey through a "Fire and Blood" landscape. We leave the high plateaus for the vertical world of the Đắk Glei mountains—a region where history is etched into every cliffside. In this episode, we pay our respects at Skull Hill (Đồi Sọ), where the ghosts of the Vietnam War still linger, and explore the rusted remnants of the Phoenix Airport (Tân Cảnh Airfield). We witness the "Agent Orange" scars of Charlie Hill and tackle the infamous Lò Xo Pass—a 37km switchback gauntlet born as a secret bicycle supply route in 1969. The "Agent Orange" Barrenness: When passing Charlie Hill, you will notice the ridges are still barren of trees after 50 years. This isn't just a view; it's a testament to the environmental toll of the war. It's a powerful spot for a silent pause in the odyssey. Fuel & Survival: Plei Kần is your last reliable major town before the Lò Xo Pass. Ensure your bike is in peak condition and your tank is full. Beyond this point, the cell signal vanishes and the "Wild Frontier" rules apply. Carry water, food, and at least one spare bottle of fuel.
