Today, March 19th 2025, marks the 43rd anniversary of Randy Rhoad’s tragic passing in a plane crash in Leesburg Florida when Ozzy’s tour bus en route to Orlando from Knoxville TN, made a pit stop at the Tour Bus HQ for a quick repair.. The bus driver (also a pilot with an expired license) convinced Randy to take a quick joyride on a small plane using the private airstrip also on property… The rest is history, if you don’t know the entire story, look it up… About a year ago, as I was passing through, I stopped by the site.. I wasn’t about to trespass and enter the property, but I was surprised to see the house that the plane crashed into was visible from the road! Such a quiet peaceful country road, you’d never even know such a thing ever happened here.. As a huge lifelong Ozzy and Randy fan, It was pretty surreal to visit the site, and as a kid born in Connecticut, it’s crazy to think I live so close to it now all these years later.. Such a senseless avoidable tragedy that changed the course of Rock history. RIP Randy Rhoads 1956-1982
