ZST: https://up.picr.de/38246332pm.jpg STR: https://up.picr.de/38246331ai.jpg This is an old split flap display which type once was mounted at the stations of the S-Bahn in Berlin. Built in 1987 the first ones got replaced in 2007. In 2013 all of theser were finally gone and modern LCD took their place. Sadly the squared clock is missing. They were mounted to the side at the platform number. Perhaps I will find one some day. The display is controlled either by a telephone line or a RS232-line. At the moment I control it via the RS232. The system, made in the 80's, is still working perfectly well - except one fault. Usually after the display set the split flaps it should "remember" the posistion when getting the next signal. This does not happen. It has to roll over the starting point to start counting again and stopping at the wanted position. The CMOS buffer capacitor is not broken, so I think some EPROM got Alzheimers.
