From chocolates to heart shaped pillows, all are on sale in Tehran for that special someone. STORYLINE: Lovers of all ages are celebrating Valentine's day in Iran. Across the capital, Tehran, couples are exchanging love tokens. Unlike many Islamic countries where the Western tradition of Valentine's day is not welcome, in Iran the day is celebrated, unofficially at least. As the day approaches, many Iranians head out shopping for some of the latest love-themed treats. Shops specialising in Valentine's gifts can be found selling a wide selection of dolls, chocolates, and cards. Nazanin says the day is a good time to show how much you care about family members. The shop's windows are filled with gift idea for those unsure what to buy. Nazarin says the Persian calendar has a similar day that celebrates loved ones. In traditional Iranian culture the day of Sepandarmazgan is an occasion to celebrate love.
