WHY am I NOT connecting with COLTRANE? The Acoustic Sounds Impulse John Coltrane releases.

In this video, I talk about the excellent Acoustic Sounds Impulse Series releases, and how I am so impressed with their presentation and pressing, but lament that so far, Coltrane is just not my cup of tea. Its not for lack of trying - I started out years ago with Blue Trane. I thought 'such a classic LP in the Blue Note catalog, surely I'm going to love it' . Well, not quite. Played it twice and it sat on the shelf for years! Then came Lush Life -'If DCC was releasing it, it must be fantastic!' l liked it a little better but it never was in regular rotation. Since then its been A Love Supreme, Ballads, Live at the Village Vanguard and Crescent. I can appreciate all of them but so far i haven't derived much pleasure from them. I don't know why that is. Surely I'm in the minority. Seems everyone adores Coltrane. Its kind of hard to be so candid about it, but I realized it's ok, not everyone can like the same things. In the video I discuss how I've eventually come around to other music that i didn't initially connect with, and I'm really hoping thats the case here too.
