Tell the Truth About Yourself - we need to stop saying "I'm fine" when we are hurting inside. Take the opportunity to connect with someone you trust to share about how you are doing in life. Great things can happen in life when we are emotionally honest. We can always tell the truth while protecting ourselves too. 2. Be a Heart with Ears (with no mouth) - Take the opportunity to help our friends and loved ones. This can have a tremendous impact on them and on you. Cole shares what this looks like and why it's so important to listen to others without trying to fix things, without judgment, and just simply hear the other person so they feel heard. He also goes over what this looks like how to be a Heart with Ears and the benefits of doing this. 3. Work on staying in the present moment - for some of us, this is easier and for others is a really hard concept. He explores how we can float into the past or into the future, and how this impacts us emotionally. Cole describes how this can happen, what it looks like, and why it's so important during the holidays. The truth is most of the time we float out of the moment and miss life that is happening now. 4. Take care of yourself by reducing what you eat that isn't healthy for you. Sugars, carbs, and other 'treats' don't really help us to feel better. Eating healthier options and making decisions that really help me to feel good physically is important. 5. Have a friend who is your personal support - put a plan in place with a friend who will be there for you. Someone willing to check in with you who won't minimize your feelings, won't try to fix you and will be a heart with ears for you. This reduces your sense of isolation in the world. Isolation only adds to the problems our society is dealing with. When we feel alone and isolated these other issues seem even more overwhelming. We all need to be heard.
