“The key to good health is healthy food…people are fed, but they aren’t nourished…sustainability is us” says John Trimble who hated tomatoes growing up until he discovered how incredible home-grown fruits and vegetables can taste. John thinks we can rediscover the flavor and nutrition of healthy food by growing some of our own and transforming our landscapes by putting healthy, sustainably-produced food right in front of us. He believes Foodscaping can solve many of society’s biggest problems in health and sustainability, because it gives us an opportunity to actively participate in restructuring our food system and creating a more sustainable world. John is a professor at Weber State University and co-founder of Foodscaping Utah, a nonprofit organization that helps people get started growing food in beautiful front yard foodscapes. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
