Hi all, Here is the 2nd Roland JunoDS demo I have done, a bit shorter this time with some of my favorite presets. This is a fantastic keyboard for the price, loads of great presets, Axial sound libraries available, inbuilt 8 track sequencer, sample playback and can even be powered by batteries. It seems to be running a sound engine simular to the JV/VX line, a 4 partial rompler, but don't be turned off by that... the thing sounds amazing (at least to me). The sound engineers I believe have done a lot of work creating the onboard patches, and I regularly find myself just playing the keyboard for hours on end. It has the ability to use 3 MFX, chained in a mind-boggling number of ways, with regular chorus and reverb on the side. The main thing is, its pretty easy to use. There's not much menu diving for general functions (don't try patch editing, its deep and complex, use the pc editor). There's a lot of bang for your buck considering it seems priced as a "kind of" budget synthesizer, my main issue with it is MIDI connectivity. It will send panel CC fine, but it will not send MIDI data from the internal sequencer or even midi clock messages. If MIDI connectivity is important to you (like me) this device will only receive clock messages in sequencer mode and when set to slave. Don't expect to use it as a Master Midi Keyboard, but.. all the controls on the face do a fine job sending commands to my MC707 and it all links up nicely! Apparently MIDI works well in DAW mode over USB, but who uses them anymore. :) So, enjoy some of the sounds I enjoy of the Roland Juno DS, you may even recognise a few tunes.
