Let's say aideu to the long list of Liverpudian Leylands, and instead finalise with a formidable Fleetline, as we mill instead with Mancunian DWH706W. New in 1981, DWH706W was new to Lancashire United as their 613, forming the last of a batch of 25 Fleetlines delivered late 1980/ early 1981, but was later absorbed into Greater Manchester PTE, becoming their 6990, primarily running in the Bolton and Swinton areas. The Fleetline passed to GM Buses North in 1992, passing to First Greater Manchester in 1996 and withdrawn from service in December 1998 before entering preservation. Our journey today sees us on a dark return journey from Headbolt Lane Station to Kirkby Industrial Estate, on what was one of the final journeys of the event. DWH706W is powered by a Gardner 6LXB engine coupled to a 4-speed SCG Semi-Automatic gearbox. So if you would like some fantastic Fleetline action, have a look and I hope you all enjoy.
