This session explored the groundbreaking Open Source Revenues & Benefits (OS Revs & Bens) Project — a collaborative initiative led by Teignbridge District Council, with Sedgemoor, Strata and other partners. Attendees heard how Sedgemoor rebuilt its revenues and benefits system from the ground up as a cloud-native, modular, API-driven platform, designed to overcome the limitations of legacy systems that are costly, inflexible and reliant on manual workarounds. The session unpacked why the project was started, what the Alpha phase had achieved — including real data migration, multi-tenanted architecture and improved user experience — and what open, shared digital infrastructure could mean for councils across the country.
