DIY Basic Hydroponic System. DWC Buckets, How to, cheap and simple!

Just change the Nutrients and water weekly and that's it! I have had great success with little effort using this system. Its a great way to get into hydroponics and you will LOVE it! Parts you will need: • 10ltr bucket with lid • Basket pot • Zipties • Fish tank Air stone • Fish tank Air pump • 6mm hose or to suit the above • Clay balls • Rockwool cubes • Nutrients Tools you will need: • A Marker • A drill and drill bits • Craft knife Method: Mark out the hole required in the buckets lid for the basket pot. Fit the basket pot snug in the lid. Drill holes through the basket pot & further out in the lid. Run and secure zip ties in one hole out the other. Drill one larger hole away from the basket for the air hose and fit the air hose inside it. You can secure this with a zip tie also. Fit the air stone on the end of the hose inside the lid. The hose should be long enough that it reaches the bottom of the bucket. Rinse off the soil from your plant gently and place it inside the middle of the rockwool cube. While holding the plant in place pour the clay balls around the plants roots and the rockwool to full the spaces and secure the plant. Now full your bucket with room temperature water (Rain water works best) and 20ml of each of your nutrient mix. The lid can go on and the plants roots, the clay balls and the rockwool should be submerged in the water and nutrients. Next connect to other end of the hose to the air pump and confirm that bubbles are being made in the water. Done! This system works well with grow lights or natural light. Change the water and nutrients weekly and you will not need to worry about testing. It is the cheapest and easiest way to start in Hydroponics. HAVE FUN! :D
