A playthrough of the boss and hidden character Kilik in the Xbox 360 version of SoulCalibur V. Kilik’s inclusion here is a brilliant idea, in theory anyway. You see, Kilik was trained by Edge Master himself. Therefore, him becoming the new Edge Master and taking up the mantle of a roulette character was a brilliant idea, not to mention a fantastic pay-off. Indeed, Kilik fulfils his destiny by effectively replacing Edge Master. There’s the problem however. He’s made into Edge Master in the game where Edge Master finally returns to the franchise. Meaning you have two characters who are more or less exactly the same. There’s no point even playing as either of them over Elysium, especially with her unique critical edge, basically making the both of them more or less pointless. Except, I guess, as a nice surprise in Legendary Souls mode, where Kilik is actually the first character fought. Indeed, I’m almost surprised that one of them isn’t unplayable, considering how redundant it is to have two of the exact same character about. I was never dramatically warm to Kilik, but he does have a pretty great design here. His inclusion is alright, but lord knows I wish they would have been a bit more creative with this game. Next up, we get a single look at a character mentioned across much of the series.
