So posting a P-39N-1 video spanked interest in a plane that is seldom available, which means I unintentionally caused false excitement that it was available again. Now the P-39Q-15 on the Russian side of the house is always available but loses 4x7.62 machine guns and nearly 100 DPS. But how bad is that really? So I decided to pick it up and test out the differences, and I was surprised. The loss of some DPS does come with increased maneuverability, speed, and climb rate. Not a huge increase mind you, but the ability to fit speed paint adds to that speed benefit. Now these are all minor changes, but will add up as we equip the aircraft and make a run at specialization. I will revisit this comparison again later, and I may include the Ki-88 in that.
