Under the personal guidance of the Dear Leader Kim Jong-Il, and by decision of the State Committee for Culture and the Ministry of Popular Arts, a new modern musical collective was formed in the early 2010s to carry the spirit of Juche and the line of Songun politics into the cultural life of the new century. In a period marked by rapid technological change and intense ideological struggle, the Dear Leader emphasised that popular music and youth culture had become important fronts in the defence of national dignity and socialist confidence. It was therefore resolved to establish a group that would master contemporary musical forms while remaining firmly rooted in revolutionary principle and collective discipline. From this guidance was born JUCHE GANG — a group formed not around individual fame, but around unity, ideological clarity, and service to the people. Their debut work, “Keep It Juche,” was produced in strict accordance with these principles, uniting modern rhythm with revolutionary content.
