Namiki Aya Maki-e fountain pen--BUYER BEWARE! I was given a VERY EXPENSIVE Namiki Aya Maki-e fountain pen for my birthday and it has been a NIGHTMARE! Be VERY careful if you choose to purchase a Namiki. May the force be with you! My first Namiki Aya Maki-e pen had a faulty, possibly "over polished," nib that caused it to skip. This was the diagnosis of the company I purchased it from after it was returned it They replaced it with an identical Namiki Aya Maki-e--Seiryu Blue. But, this new pen seems exactly the same to me as the first. Now, I'm told the problem has to do with the way I write or the "idiosyncrasies" of the pen." If the way I write is a problem, then why do my many other pens (shown in video) from Sailor, Visconti, Aurora and Pilot work INCREDIBLY well? I think there is a bigger issue here with design or production flaw. This vIdeo contains: A story, writing samples, a Namiki Aya Maki-e pen (Seiryu Blue, F-M nib), a Sailor Naginata Togi--Snowy Mountain pen, a Pilot Custom 845 Urushi--Vermillion pen (M nib), a Sailor 1911 fountain pen, Colorverse Quasar ink, Taccia Sora ink, Pelikan Sapphire ink, Southworth Fine Paper--Natural Wove 24 lb. Watermarked and A LOT of frustration!
